Federal Skilled Worker Program

The Canada Federal Skilled Worker Program aims to attract immigrants that will be able to join the workforce and contribute to Canada’s economy. It is one of three federal programs managed through Express Entry, the Canada online application system for skilled workers. Aside from the Federal Skilled Worker Program, we also assist with the Canadian Experience Class.

General Requirements

• Attain at least 67 points in the Federal Skilled Worker Points test to be eligible for Express Entry
• Occupation is in the list of eligible occupations
• Provide evidence of competent English or higher
• Meet the health and character requirements
• Have sufficient proof of funds (this amount varies based on the number of family members included in the application)

Quebec Skilled Worker Program

The Québec Skilled Worker Program has its own selection grid, distinct from the Federal Skilled Worker Program. The Québec program gives much more importance to the language of French, the official language of Québec, although it is not a prerequisite for eligibility.

General Requirements

• Attain at least 50 (for single applicants) or 59 (for married or common-law applicants) points in the selection grid as per the QSWP
• Provide evidence of competent English or higher
• Meet the health and character requirements
• Have sufficient proof of funds (this amount varies based on the number of family members included in the application)

Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP)

High net worth individuals willing to make a substantial investment in Canada may be able to acquire a permanent resident visa through the Québec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP).

Requirements

• Have a personal net worth of CAD $2 million. This includes all assets belonging to the applicant and his/her spouse and acquired through any legal source of funds
• Possess at least two years of suitable management experience within the five years preceding the application
• Commit to making an investment of CAD $1,200,000 into a passive government guaranteed investment for a period of five years
• Intend to settle in the province of Quebec

Advantages

• Government guarantee – this investment is guaranteed by a government entity and is returned in full after 5 years
• Only passive investment option available for Canada – no need to manage or invest in a company
• No risk if refused – the investment is made only after the applicant has already been approved by the province of Quebec
• No strict language or education requirements – applicants under the QIIP are not required to speak English or French or to have a University degree
• Direct PR visa granted – applicants and their family are given full Permanent Resident status once accepted. They do not have to go through any conditional or temporary visas.
• PR benefits for the entire family – main applicant, spouse and children below the age of 19 years old at the time of application will all receive the PR and enjoy the benefits
